Espionage in the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union had a great spy network in Germany, as well as in Allied countries. The Communist Party organizations helped get the Soviet Union agents in each country. Their connections in the United States helped them uncover one of the biggest secrets in the war, the Manhattan Project. This was the project to build the atomic bomb. The Soviet Union finding out about this led to them also creating Nuclear weapons to stay with us military wise. They also had very effective spy rings in Britain, Italy, and Japan.
