Art & Propaganda in Italy
Gino Boccasile was born in Italy in 1901. Boccasile was a supporter of Benito Mussolini, so he made propaganda posters for the government. In his posters during World War II, Boccasile included several racist marks. He targeted these posters at the allies, by discriminating against African-Americans for example. Many other Italian artists also used racism in their posters. Here is one of Boccasile’s works.
This piece of work by Boccasile, shows the carelessness of the American troops. It shows that they destroyed many cultural items with little care. This piece was made by Boccasile in 1940.
