Espionage in Japan
Takeo Yoshikawa was the most important Japanese spy during World War II. He had a huge role in making the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor successful. For four years, Yoshikawa studied English and the United States Navy. When it was time, the Japanese sent him to work undercover as Tadashi Morimura on vacation in Hawaii. While at the base, he sent the Japanese many telegraphed messages. These messages told the things he observed from watching the base. He helped the Japanese plan Pearl Harbor by figuring out where the ships were located, the best way to attack them, and the best time to attack them.
